I received a pretty cool email today from Matthias Meißer letting me know about OSM2World OpenStreetMap for Blender.
you and the Blender community might be interested, that the OpenStreetMap project is working more and more on 3D exchange.
We create a free wiki worldmap using just simple GPS receivers
Tordanik has released an exporter called OSM2World that is able to write Wavefront OBJ files and generates 3D terrain and buildings of OSM Files.
It would be great, if the Blender Community might create some nice renders using our material. Even joning our discussions to add high res models to OSM would be great.
Sounds like great fun, I encourage you all to give it a try.
