Current Projects
All too often I am working on more than one project at a time, which just as often means I lose sight of what I was doing or that I was even doing it.
Not a good thing, by any means. So I decided I needed a place to keep track of my current projects, so I don’t end up forgetting a project as I work on others.
Perry the Sheep (short animation)
It would seem that I have been talked into creating a short animation of a cartoon character that my 16 year old daughter has developed. So stay tuned for further developments.
Stages I will have to go through (or more accurately, stages I should go through):
- Storyboarding
- Character design
- Modeling of character (1/2 done)
- rigging of character
- texturing and materials
- Building of simple set
- Lighting
- Posing and Animating of Perry
- Tons of polishing and refinement
- Final renders
Bumper Bash
A bumper car game I am creating with Blender’s game engine.

Lighting Studies
A series of discussions covering my study of lighting in general, and better use of lighting tools and techniques in blender.
Areas I want to take a look at:
- Lighting and Rendering by Jeremy Birn
- lighting concepts that can be applied to blender
- exercises from the book, done from blender
- BSoD: Lighting
- series of exercises that were written for BSoD: Lighting
- Analyzing various scenes and image setups to understand the lighting used and why.
